Description
Located on the left side of the Rhône River, at the heart of the appellation Crozes Hermitage, the domain of 7 Chemins occupies 20 hectares in Pont de L'Isère. Planted with Syrah for the reds and Marsanne for the whites, the vineyards are partly planted on fluvio-glacial alluvial soil, but also on ancient terraces of rolled Rhône pebbles.
Here the vine lives with fruit crops of peaches, apricots and nectarines.
The Domain was funded in 1930 by Louis Betton, the grandfather of the actual owners. After only cultivating the fruits crops for a long period of time, Jean Louis BUFFIERE had in 1980, after his father, the ambition to restore the estate to its former glory. To do this, he restructured the estate by replanting or renewing the vines. The vines are grown with respect of the environment and according to the precepts of sustainable agriculture. The Domaine des 7 Chemins ages its wine for a year in barrels, and applies rigorous controls at every stage of production, right through to bottling on the estate.
The extension carried out from 2003 onwards and the creation of an underground cellar ensurethe continuity of the Domaine des 7 Chemins with Jérome and Rémy, his children who have taken over since 2010 and whose stated ambition is the production of high quality terroir wines.
